The lacet stitch is
one of the filet crochet stitches used in a 4-dc filet
crochet. The lacet stitch is worked over 2 rows and over an
area of 2 mesh, which is a total of 7
stitches.
As indicated on the
picture below a 4-dc mesh consists of:
Open mesh
- 1 double
crochet, 2 chain stitches, 1 double crochet, 2 chain
stitches, etc.
Filled mesh
– 4 double
crochet in the first mesh of the row and three double
crochet in each additional mesh of the row.
Note
: The mesh
is sharing a double crochet in between two meshes, which
means that the last double crochet of the first mesh is also
the first double crochet of the next mesh. Two meshes cover
a total of seven stitches.

How to crochet the
lacet stitch:
Row 1 – double crochet
(dc), 3 chain stitches (ch), skip 2 stitches, single crochet
(sc) in next stitch, 3 chain stitches (ch), skip 2 stitches,
double crochet (dc) in next double crochet
(dc).
Row 2 – double crochet
(dc), 5 chain stitches (ch), double crochet (dc) in next
double crochet (dc)
A lacet stitch is made
over 2 rows and is a double mesh pattern in filet crochet.
The double mesh of row 2 is used directly above the lacet
made in the previous row.
